Who it's for
This program is for someone who has tried the alternatives and come up short. Someone who's committed to a medium to long term plan to recover their dog's behaviour, who wants to enjoy their dog again and wants their relationship with their dog to be the best it can be.
If you feel lost, exhausted or drained, anxious to even take your dog out, or fearful of meeting other dogs or people on a walk, you're in the right place.
Dogs I help on this program
- Reactivity to dogs
- Reactivity to people
- Aggression
- Nervous or fearful dogs
- Lead pulling and lunging
How the program works
It starts with an assessment and identification of your dog's reactivity issues, including a full home life reset covering nutrition, rest periods, play and leadership skills.

Relationship first
The first few sessions focus on improving the relationship between owner and dog. I include basic leash handling skills and teach the owner how to read their dog better and how to manage stressful encounters.

Light distractions
We then move into light distractions to test the dog's ability to cope with stressors and stimulation, and enhance the dog's resilience and capacity to listen and learn.

Real world
Finally we move onto real world scenarios, where I challenge both owner and dog to manage and excel in unpredictable situations with confidence.

Brilliant trainer!
I am genuinely beyond grateful to Ryan and the work he has put in with my anxious and reactive dog Bailey since September. When Ryan first met Bailey, she was terrified of strangers, and incredibly reactive to every dog she passed on her walks. From the very first session we had, Ryan has approached Bailey and her problems with such patience and kindness, and has never shied away from answering my endless questions.
In less than a year, Bailey has become a much more stable and confident dog, and Ryan has also helped me understand better why she reacts this way, how I can manage my own anxiety and leash pressure to avoid stressing Bailey out more. From recall sessions, to exposure walking around the Gnoll, Ryan has truly turned my dog’s life around.
With Ryan’s help, I have actually started to enjoy walking Bailey again, and have gained the confidence to manage reactive and unavoidable situations when they come along. I could not recommend Ryan enough, and am so grateful for his continued help and support!
Absolutely recommend Ryan if you have a dog with any sort of complicated background. He's been a lifesaver with helping get our rescue Malinois mix sorted with his reactivity, lead-walking, and general manners
Questions about the program
How much does it cost?
Each price is tailored to the issues you're facing and the complexity of your dog. I'll talk you through the price on your free call.
Where does training take place?
If you have specific issues at home, at least one session will take place at your home to overcome those problems. Later sessions will always take place in a public location, where the real challenges are.
How many sessions?
All plans start with 6 sessions, if more are required due to the complexity and intensity of your dog's behaviour, more can be added to accommodate its recovery.
Are you force free?
I always start using positive methods. However, my expertise and education has shown me without any doubt, that fairly applied pressure helps certain dogs recover, where positive only methods fall short. As such, you could call me a balanced trainer who leans more towards positive play.
